What is West Coast Swing?

West Coast Swing (WCS) is a partner dance that originated from Lindy Hop and is known for its "elastic" look, which comes from its extension-compression connection technique. It is characterized by improvisation, allowing both partners to add their own creative steps. West Coast Swing is versatile and is danced to a wide variety of modern music as well as more traditional swing music.

West Coast Swing is a relatively new dance in Denmark, but it is growing fast in our neighbouring Nordic countries as well as in Europe and the US.

If you are curious about how the dance can look, the videos are a good example of the playful and musical nature of West Coast Swing.
